repaving of slave cemetery postponed
After grass-roots protests earlier this week, VCU has decided to delay repaving the parking lot that may cover a burial ground for slaves and free blacks.

Wearable Art X
Saturday’s Wearable Art X will be a full production complete with music, lighting, the fashion runway, and professional models in a “imaginative fusions of media, sculpture and movement that are the signature of the event”. Check out the juried show of works by professional artists and students in fundraiser for the nonprofit 1708 Gallery hosted by La Difference. The show starts at 8PM, doors open at 7PM. [via]
