Local restaurants serving local and seasonal food

The Richmond Food Collective recently posted a list of restaurants dedicated to supporting local farmers and seasonal eating which includes both Savor in Manchester and The Urban Farmhouse in Shockoe Slip. The RFC also has guides to local farmer’s markets, local CSAs, and local egg, meat, and dairy farms if that’s what you’re looking for.

Savor is super clean

Per Chef Ellie Basch‘s facebook page, the VA Health Department has named Savor the cleanest restaurant in Richmond this quarter. An award presentation is scheduled for September 17. Congratulations!

Savor/Scoot Richmond after-work party on Friday

Savor and Scoot Richmond (Manchester United) are hosting an after-work party this Fourth Friday. Live music at Savor (201 West 7th Street) from 5-7PM, with Guy Crittenden studio having an open house. After 7PM, walk over to Artworks for the Fourth Friday and then back to Scoot Richmond around 8-ish for a showing of “Shawn of the Dead” a la drive-in on their parking lot. Scooters, bikes, motorcycles and trucks that are willing to let people sit out back will be given parking priority. Also, this is grand opening week @ Savor, save 10% off purchases.

New eatery on its way

Richmond.com alerts us to the soon-to-open Savor, in the Corrugated Box Building, 201 W. 7th St. The restaurant’s focus will be on breakfast & lunch (pastries, salads, sandwiches, etc), but they’ll also offer dinner to go.

Opening is projected for next week (paperwork pending, ‘course).
