Richmond BizSense has some info on interest in the now vacant Richbrau space:
Amy de Venoge of Secam Inc., a local real estate firm that owns the space, said there are about five parties that have expressed interest in leasing the prime Shockoe space – some serious, some just tire kickers.

Rumors floating around Shockoe Slip say Richbrau has closed. In November, they downsized their operation significantly. Anyone else hear anything?

With the smoking ban now in effect, there are few restaurants that accommodate smokers. Havana 59 has opened their upstairs area to allow smoking, and Richbrau is considering allowing smoking on their second floor. Where else can you smoke? [via]

Richbrau closed the Taphouse restaurant next door to its main restaurant as well as the bar and dance club that occupies the second floor of its building this weekend.

West of the Boulevard caught that last Sunday’s Washington Post “Road Trip” featured Cary Street from Carytown to the Slip (PDF), with a nod to Richbrau and the Tobacco Company.
