The James River Green Building Council and Partnership for Smarter Growth (PSG) are hosting Eco-Building Tour 2010 on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 5:30-7:30PM, a unique opportunity to explore the Virginia Association of Counties (VaCO) Building. This space boasts impressive green features and demonstrates principles of smart growth: one of the oldest buildings in downtown Richmond, LEED Gold certified, Virginia Landmark listed on the National History Registry, located in the heart of downtown Richmond.

Sponsored by Together We Stand, Partnership for Smarter Growth, Scenic Virginia, and the Alliance to Conserve Old RIchmond Neighborhoods, the petition is intended demonstrate the number of people “who support public ownership of all riverfront land along the north bank of the James RIver in the East End”.

The Partnership for Smarter Growth’s River City Saunter, a smart growth bus tour with commentary by Rachel Flynn, Brooke Hardin, and Daniel Moore, rolled today from Manchester to Church Hill, Libby Hill, Rocketts, downtown, Jackson Ward, Monroe Ward, Oregon Hill, and back down Semmes to Legend Brewery.
