Style Weekly on the case
After accountant Chandra Tourtelot allegedly embezzled $40,000 from Scoot Richmond, police were unable to track her down but Style Weekly found her with one Facebook request.
Two weeks ago, Style Weekly ran a Google search for Tourtelot and found her Facebook page. Tourtelot responded and accepted a request from a Style reporter to be her online friend within 40 minutes. With access to her Facebook page, Style found Tourtelot had posted pictures of a new car — a green Firebird — with a clearly visible license plate. The page included pictures identifying friends by name, showed her working on set in Chesterfield during a production of ABC’s “Supernanny” television show, listed New Millennium as her employer, gave a phone number and indicated that she lived in Midlothian.

A Murder Was Committed in Manchester
From the Library of Virginia’s Virginia Memory: This Day in Virginia History
This scale drawing of a portion of Manchester, Virginia, illustrates a February 21, 1869, murder scene, showing two routes from a local tavern to the home of Richard H. Whitehead. After drinking with Thomas Willis at Talley’s Bar Room, Whitehead shot James Rogers. The Chesterfield County Court convicted both Whitehead and Willis of murder in the second degree and sentenced Whitehead to eighteen years in the penitentiary and Willis to seven. The map is interesting for its depiction of particular buildings and residences of the time, revealing considerable information about how the area actually looked.

motorcyclists guilty in fatal crash on Manchester Bridge
A press release from the Richmond Police Department yesterday announced two motorcyclists were found guilty of misdemeanor reckless driving in connection with a fatal motorcycle accident on the Manchester Bridge in April.
Joseph Christopher Greene, 32, of the 3900 block of Glenwood Avenue in Richmond, and Jorge J. Diaz Jr., 32, of the 4500 block of Hunter Landing Drive in Chesterfield, were charged April 8 with reckless driving by engaging in a race between two or more motor vehicles on a highway.
The pair was charged after an April 7 crash on the Manchester Bridge that killed their friend and fellow motorcyclist Bradley James Ferguson, 21, of Glen Allen, who died after his motorcycle crashed on the bridge.
Investigation by the Richmond Police Department Crash Team showed speed was a factor in the crash.
