“manchester mojo”

Richmond Bizsense takes a look at Fountainhead Development’s progressive plans for Manchester:

“It will be the poster child for new urbanism in that it will be apartments, office, an adult day care center and artist studios,” Gregory said… It’s not just mixed-use, but also mixed income. The apartments will be a mix of subsidized and market rate, and some will be designed for people with disabilities.

Who wants to pay market rate and live next to subsidized housing? Not me, thanks.

Hmm, that doesn’t sound like a good shepherd to me. COiuld you be more specific as to why this is unappealing?

    Fulton Rez.:
1)Decreased property values for market payers.
    2)Crime.
    3)Blight.
    4)Blaring music.
    5)Vandalism.
    6)Etc,etc.

Statistics and reality outweigh utopian notions.

TheGoodShepherd must have gotten lost in a bad neighborhood on his way to a Sarah Palin rally last year.

You have my sympathy, sir. Seeing poor people can be very traumatic.

Being poor is not an excuse for bad or criminal behavior.
One doesn’t need to be affluent to obey the law or have respect for others in the community.
And I am no fan of Sarah Palin, thanks.

New Manchester Flats is not located in a bad neighborhood. It’s actually surrounded by warehouses that are being or eventually being turned into living spaces. It is also pretty secluded and New Manchester Flats is the stepping stone to a bigger picture.
