The money goes into the general fund to pay "debt service costs related to cultural and educational facilities." That equates to about two cents on the real estate tax rate. Since most estimates are that the mayor will have to cut an additional $30 million from the 2011 budget, we can then add the reductions from the meals tax. What fun. We would only have to raise the RE tax rate 17 cents just to break even.
