Well with the Edgar Allen Poe Museum the Holocaust Museum and now a Slave Museum we could be considered the “Bummer” tour that might increase our bar visitors afterwards but I don’t see this being the Family fun event the rest of Richmond has to offer. I think it should be here but don’t sell it as a tourist mecca because it won’t be. Unless you count all the poor Schoolbuses filled with kids who will look blankly and complain that the gift shop did not have pepsi products.
Yep, the museum should be incorporated into the Shockoe Center proposal and be part of a larger “destination.” It can’t happen on it’s own there anyway, due to the flood plain restrictions.
But this issue has already been hashed and re-hashed. I suppose that since Mr. Rea has ceased beating the “referendum” drum in opposition to the ballpark, he is going to return to the Lumpkin’s drum.
Sure we can fit a Museum along with the poney ride and the rollercoaster in the proposal for Shockoe Center. The Shockoe center grows larger than the property they want to use but everyone believes they can fit a Killer Whale in a goldfish bowl does not mean they will be able to.
