They actually now have some sort of banner against building a stadium in Shockoe Bottom or something like that… I don’t walk that way much lately, but did notice it’s not just the big white wall anymore.
Yes, I extend my hearty congratulations to stadium opponents – they can now count Club Velvet among their allies. Bravo!
There was something so “Richmond” about a wall mural on the side of a strip club. Made no sense what so ever, but fit in just fine.
Not sure why you even give Velvet the time of day. The owner isn’t a supporter of Shockoe Bottom, except when it comes to his interests as strip club owner.
I wish people stopped giving velvet such a hard time! Yes, sam’s not a role model, but he does give jobs to young mothers an students who otherwise could not feed there kids or graduate college! I have worked there a long time, and the drama over signs, and murals, and suspicions of criminal activity only makes us better known! Most of us are normal students, parents, an young women who know how to support ourselves during a recession and are not all prostitutes, despite what all the rumors an gossip are this week or next!
