Warning: I don’t want to presage a witch hunt, but not all of the squatters are harmless.
http://www.oregonhill.net/2008/07/25/home-invasion-suspect-caught/
Right or Wrong — At least they could keep the islands and the river clean. That place has always looked like a dump.
I read the article, seemed like a nice place to live. yeah only squatters are violent, good point burger. It seems it would be easy to keep it clean just throw your trash in the river and it goes downstream. Let some liberal do-gooder voluteer to pick up the trash, hahaha
I don’t know which fallacy to address first… not all squatters are litterbugs, but some are. Not all squatters are burglars or violent offenders, but some are. These things being true, the answer to littering, thievery, and murder is to go after the offenders – not everyone in the group they represent. If someone who lives on Park Street commits a crime, do the police kick everyone off of Park Street?
The only reason to go after all of the squatters is if the very act of squatting is in question, and the one identified property owner doesn’t care. As far as the condo dwellers go, let them go pick up litter or buy those guys camo tents if they don’t like it. Ralph White has the right attitude.
Come on… We’re going to kick people out of their place of living to improve the views for people living in Condo’s??? Is this really the kind of mentality I’m living around.
Live and let live. They aren’t hurting you or anyone else. Guess what, criminals live in homes too! People that litter live in homes.
Since when is a view from a window more important than a person???
