Come on out to hear the one guy with guts enough to keep Obama on the progressive track.

“He thought that there was no difference between Al Gore and George Bush, and, eight years later, I think people realize that Ralph did not know what he was talking about,” Obama said at a town hall meeting Sunday. [via]

I have heard that comment from several Democrats. I think it is easy to Monday morning quarterback, but you have to remember that this was previous to 9/11 and Iraq and Gore’s Oscar.

I also recall that Kerry would not take a firm stand against the Iraq war and even now we are hearing different statements from Obama on the war.

If Democrats really wanted to reassure the American public of where they stand against the Republicans, they would demand impeachment.

    Thank you Scott Burger!

The democrats are wussies and have got the same corporate mad money in their pockets.

Chances are I’ll vote for Obama this go round but I expect him to pull the U.S. out of Iraq and the democrats need to hold him to it. It is a sin that Iraqi people and U.S. soldiers are dying for Haliburton.

I agree with Scott - Obama has taken a hard turn to the right.

Ralph has always remained steadfast in his stance on the war, civil liberties, worker rights, etc.

Dennis Kucinich is the ONLY democrat that has the courage to demand impeachment. It really stinks that Dennis didn’t get the DNC nomination. Democrats should rally behind Dennis instead of marginalizing him.

I am just passing this info around because I used to work on one of Ralph Nader’s environmental projects (30 years ago!!) and when I heard that he was coming to town TOMORROW, I was shocked that I had not seen very much promotional material out in the blogosphere.

Congratulations to this blog for having a note about this important event!

I am looking forward to hearing Ralph in person again. He is, to me, an environmental hero, even though to some he remains a political enigma.

One thing is certain: When you come to hear Ralph Nader, it will be one of the few occasions where you will have a political candidate tell you the truth and offer some real solutions to the real problems that we all face.
