Back Porch Energy Initiative moderates multi-media discussions based on social topics of social-interest every Monday at GlobeHopper. The gathering begins at 6:30PM, multi-media discussion begins promptly at 7PM.
This week we will be watching clips from The Real Dirt on Farmer John, a documentary that tells the story of one man’s experiences with farming and the way in which they parallel the history of agriculture in America.
Following the screening we will discuss the local and community farming options in Richmond and will be joined by special guest Lisa Taranto, founder of Tricycle Gardens in Church Hill.

Canal Boats And Cobblestones walking tour

This tour focuses on the history, architecture, and preservation efforts of the canal area. Come explore the historic and architectural treasures of Shockoe Slip, and see the work that is being done in this 19th century warehouse district along the James River, the Great Basin and Richmond’s canals.
