World Market Day? Did anyone bring any “flair” to the market that isn’t there any other day? No. Well, first off there would need to be flair in order for it to change. I didn’t see a single vendor I haven’t seen on a regular sorry market day. Can anyone answer this question? Why was one vendor playing Christmas Carols all morning?

I was very excited to visit the market this day. I should have known it would have been just as poor quality as any other market day. Why did I waste my time walking down there? Not again.

Regarding the Christmas carols, I find the fewer questions asked about certain people, the better.

This event seems to have been convened on short notice, but I applaude assistance manager Linette Bond’s attempt to invigorate the Saturday market.

Bear in mind, also, that an event organizer can only do so much to attract the types of vendors they want. If those small business persons aren’t available (or are unwilling) to attend, there’s not much a promoter can do.

Give it another chance for the Shockoe Chef Showdown; it should be very good.
