Segway dealership coming to Shockoe

Sounding a lot like Tobacco Avenue, Style Weekly is reporting that Buck Ward, a Midlothian businessman, will be opening a Segway dealership next month in Shockoe Slip.

Cool way to get around but no way I can afford or even justify the $5k they want for them. :( Good luck to Mr. Ward, though!

I hear people who try the Segway love it. Washington, D.C. has a couple companies offering Segway tours. Hopefully tours will be or are available in Richmond as well. I too wish the price of a Segway wasn’t so high.
I’d like to see the police and security departments in and around Richmond use them. I hear Target will be using them nation wide. I’d like to see them in use for security in the malls and their parking lots.
    Best wishes to Mr. Ward!

Yesterday at lunch, I saw three guys on Segways at 12th and Canal. It was way cool to see them, and they were definitely going over some rough cobblestones. I assumed they were either employees of the new shop or guys who agreed to ride around Shockoe Slip at lunch time on a nice warm day as a method of advertising the new shop. Either way, it was pretty effective, got my attention right away!

thank you very much for your kind words and support. In addition to selling Segway PTs we will also rent them by the hour, half day, full day or weekly. Working on rates but should have them ready by April 15 when we’ll open.
