Earth Day in RVA needs your help!!

Dear Richmond Organizations, Businesses, and Individuals:

It is time for a green revolution!
Next meeting at Gallery5 on Wednesday March 12th at 6:00 PM (Please Forward this email)

Richmond Earth Day will be held this year between Mayo Island and Plant Zero on Saturday, April 19th 2008.. Unfortunately the community support of Earth Day in the past few years has been limited and if we are going to make Earth Day, EVERY DAY, then we need to make this one count.
We need your support to make Richmond green by saving the trash and getting involved on a daily basis.

Is your organization or business interested in recycling but find it difficult in the city we live? Do you personally want to be a part of city-wide recycling plan? Then think globally and act locally. We need your help in planning, participating and yes,… recycling.

Even before April 19th, here is a way you can help to make a successful Earth Day this year in RVA.
Please read! Below are both interest for daily recycling and a call for participants taking place this Earth Day.

-If you are a business or organization, we would like to make you aware of a non-profit local recycling organization called “Save the Trash” that not only recycles your trash, but utilizes recycled goods for both artistic and conscious consumer purposes. If you are serious about recycling and saving landfill space, these guys will not only pick up your goods, but can provide you with a “clever and fun” way of recycling. For more information contact Carter Anderson, also one of the organizer’s of this year’s Earth Day, at: savethetrash@gmail.com

-We need businesses to sponsor teams for a ” Litter Rescue on Earth Day”. This will involve the sponsorship of a litter collection team to gather trash in surrounding neighborhoods on the way to the Earth Day celebration in Mayo Island. Give the city something to smile about :-) What you need to do: Organize a group, create a trash cart with your logo, feed your team and send them on their way. Opportunities for fundraising are available.

Can your organization collaborate in this effort? Would you like to join in on a weekend bike rally to Earth Day? Do you have great ideas on greening Richmond? Then come out to the meeting at Gallery5 on Wednesday March 12th at 6:00 PM to express your opinions and learn how you or your organization can become more involved in Earth Day 2008.

Peace, Love and Planet Earth.
